This has to be the worst hotel ever. It isn't even worthy of 3stars. The lobby and bar/restuarant appear respectable but once u get into the lifts everything changes. As I left the lift scenes of 'The Shining' flashed into my mind. The decor is not only disgustingly outdated, its also appears to have suffered due to lack of general up keeping. My room looked as though someone had broken in. The door frame and door was cracked. Then the fun really begins. Each room has a air con unit that has a canny resemblance with a Dr Who Dalek. This strange looking contraption does keep the room cool, only after sticking the flu pipe attached to it out of the window. The bathroom was grotty and the wardrobe appeared to have damp walls.. Needless to say that I checked out and found something more appropriate. This hotel is having a laugh with its rates and is in desperate need of a refurb

We stayed in the Thistle in Manchester for four nights... was supposed to be all inclusive holiday but it turned out to be a disaster..... the staff decided to change the booking price challenging the ref numbers given on booking... they took the full payment on the credit card on the first day of the stay so we had no come back on the fees they were charging... upon challenging the amount there was no senior staff available and the reception staff were completely dismissive of the complaints and would not make any effort to help... we feel we were ripped off with no proper appology from any member of staff... it is not a hotel i would reccomend or stay in again
