Mercure Hotel Regensburg - Regensburg, Germany 

I was looking forward to my stay at this hotel. Perhaps I am being rather unfair, but I took one look at the outside and left, going instead to the Ibis in the centre (thank goodness I was lucky enough to get a room), where I had stayed before. On driving into the car park, on the right-hand side was a series of semi-derelict apartments, which looked like the kind of place where homeless people might be put in the UK for cheap housing. Opposite the hotel was a kind of factory/industrial building, and the whole area looked forbidding. It may be great inside, but I didn't even get that far, and was happy to lose the first night's accommodation cost. The pictures on the hotel website do not lie, but they do not tell the whole truth. It looks lovely on that site; but see it in its environment. I have graded it (1), but inside it might deserve more.

Well, if you are fussy about having your bed and kitchen clean every day, you might not want to stay here. The house keeping was lousy and the front desk was not helpful, especially if you are of colored people. The room is also small. I will surely not stay again at this hotel.
