Location

Our central location in the Black Forest enables day trips to 5 different European countries! Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France and Liechtenstein are all just a short journey away.

St.Blasien with its cathedral, the third largest dome church in Europe and the largest Black Forest lake ("Schluchsee") is just a 5-minute drive away. The highest town in the Black Forest, Feldberg, with its natural history museum is also easily accessible.

The national heritage museum in Hüsli with its Rothaus brewery, and the famous "Schwarzwaldklinik Freiburg“ hospital and cathedrals of Breisgau can be visited via a train journey through the romantic Höllental valley. Fans of leisure parks will enjoy a visit to the nearby Europapark in Rust. Lake Constance with the floral island of Mainau and the Rheinfälle in Schaffhausen are easily reached. It takes just 1 hour to reach the Swiss trade show cities of Basel and Zürich.

The small town of St. Blasien is located just 7 kilometres away and offers numerous shopping and leisure facilities.

In the summer:
Enjoy the sounds of the forest as we take you on a guided horse trek through the beautiful countryside. You may also hire bicycles from the hotel, and enjoy guided mountain biking tours. For golfers, there are four lovely 9- and 18-hole courses in the local area. Regular guided hiking and Nordic walking tours are available for both young and old.

In the winter:
Menzenschwand has 3 Ski lifts and several marked cross-country ski tracks and hiking paths which begin right at the hotel. For our young guests and for beginners, there is a cost-free ski lift to a practise area. Toboganning is also available to all. The skiing arena at Feldberg is just a 10-minute drive away. For beginners, ski lessons and ski hire are available at the hotel.

Our hotel is located on a sunny south-facing slope in the centre of the town and offers 23 double rooms and 6 single rooms. All of our rooms, some of which are decorated in a Black Forest style, are equipped with modern comforts to make you feel at home. Some of our rooms feature an additional lounge area.

Our guest rooms are exclusively non-smoking and feature either a balcony or a terrace.

Please note that short stays of 1 or 2 days incur a surcharge of EUR 3 per person per day.
