Good location but pricey Munich apartment.Posted: Thu, Jun 19 2008I looked for quite a while trying to find a serviced apartment in Munich for our two adults and two children family. Found it difficult to find anything near the centre or any apartment full stop. It's not a common concept in Munich. I came across Maximilian Munich. We paid 330 euros for a two bedroom apartment.
The pros and cons are as follows:
Pros
HIgh standard, expensive fit out. Apartments are recently refurbished and pretty much as in the website photos.
Friendly and efficient reception.
Great location within 8 minute walk to the Marienplatz in the centre.
Upmarket neighbourhood with cafes nearby.
Cons
Kitchenette was tight and not particularly well equipped, eg no fry pan or dishwasher.
Airconditioning not working that well, it was still quite warm even with it on at night.
Don't like having to pay 15 euros for 24hours of internet usage at the rate we paid. I think it should be included for that rate.
No washer/dryer in apartment, they were downstairs and an additional 1.50 euros per usage.
All in all it was of a high standard but not particularly good value, especially having to pay for internet access on top of the rate paid. I noticed there was another apartment hotel round the corner called Stollberg Plaza which doesn't come up on TA but looks to be cheaper and offering quite roomy apartments.
