Business & Budget Hotel Tessin - Munich, Germany 

Ugly, but good

The room we got in the Tessin hotel looked much more like and old guest room in the house of an older aunt than a hotel room itself. Decoration was awfull and the room looked very old. Nevertheless, everythin a simple hotel room needs was available: small but functional bathroom with a shower, cable TV, heater, etc. Staff was very friendly and the location is absolutely excelent: 100m from a major S-Bahn station (public transport) that has trains going to a 10min ride to downtown every 2 or 3 minutes. Even if one doesn't want to take a ride downtown, several places to eat are in a walking distance from the hotel. Connection to the airport is easy. We did not take breakfast in the hotel (although the price of EUR 5 per person was not high), so we can not evaluate it. An overall good relation price/benefit.

Great introduction to Germany

After 3 months of traveling Europe, we found Hotel Tessin a wonderful introduction to Germany. It is by far the best 3 star Hotel we have stayed in due to: a) the wonderful Staff b) the great location - so close to public transport. The breakfasts we plentiful and the rooms were simple, but all you needed to sleep and shower. Both the train and the tram stops (although in different directions) are a 3 minute walk at the most from the front door. Also, lots of shops nearby - again, about 5 minutes max. We were well looked after at the Hotel Tessin, and the room rates were very reasonable. If you're wanting to stay somewhere close to everything and where the service is great - stay here....!!!
