Hotel Goethe - Munich, Germany 

Cheap and cheerful

A group of 15 of us stayed in this hotel for 2 days. We found it to be a decent hotel in a good location, only a 2 minute walk from Hauptbahnhof and 10 mins walk from Marienplatz. Very friendly reception staff, with excellent English. Buffet breakfast was ok, nothing special, but the food was fresh. No real problems with any of the rooms, albeit a little small. Bathrooms and beds were cleaned each day. They do specify that there is no lift, and if you're on the 4th floor (like me) then it makes for good excersise, but as we were all relatively fit this wasn't a problem. This hotel is Turkish owned, and you can see this influence in the decor around reception and in the newspapers left in reception. Othere guests we encountered in the hotel were of all ages and ranged from couples to groups. Overall, I'd certainly consider booking with them again if I return to Munich.
