Posted: Sep 02, 2007 - MBones7 - From the location to the rooms to the service, the Platzl is absolutely the place to stay in Munich. The check-in was swift and friendly and we were shown a great room on the 5th floor facing the inner courtyard. My girlfriend and I had requested a room that was not effected by the noise coming from the hofbrauhaus right across the street. The beds were the most comfortable I have seen in Europe and the bathroom was spacious and clean. At the price of the hotel and since we had travelled throughout Europe already, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room. There is also a spa located on the 5th floor done in a Moorish style, which was very cool. The breakfast buffet had a large selection and was included in the room rate. After some very heavy dinners we only ate breakfast once, but had a really good experience. Even with all the action, the hotel is quiet and very professional.. Read review

Authentic Bavarian feel to hotel with female staff wearing drindl and males wearing traditional bavarian jackets. Location is perfect 2 minutes from the Marienplatz and the underground tarnsport system. I found it a much superior location than the hotel area around the Hauptbahnhof. It is also a minutes walk from the hofbrauhaus, so if you overindulge there you do not have too far to get to your bed!. Read review
