Tribeca Grand Hotel - New York City, USA 4 star hotel

Address: 2 Avenue of the Americas, New York City, 10013
Tribeca Grand Hotel details:  Standing between the sectors of high finance and high fashion, the hotel is New York’s exclusive downtown getaway right in the epicenter of the urban universe.

Of all the hotels in New York City, Tribeca Grand’s location is utterly unrivaled—the quiet cobblestone corner looks out upon one of the richest, most sought-after neighborhoods in Manhattan, one that has long seduced celebrities and artists, financiers and the jet set.

The only thing that might trump the beauty of the surroundings is Tribeca Grand’s own stunningly designed interior. The soaring central atrium opens to a fleet of luxurious guestrooms, the intimate Church Lounge, a premier cocktail bar and restaurant, and even a private film screening room.

The Tribeca Grand Hotel, owned and developed by Leonard and Emanuel Stern of Hartz Mountain Industries, opened in May 2000, revolutionizing the way guests to New York stay. From weekend getaways to executive business trips, relaxing to partying, the Tribeca neighborhood offers the ultimate mix of restaurants, shops, and nightlife. The hotel never had to choose between business and pleasure—and neither should its guests.

Dining

Church Lounge:
New York might have made the classic hotel bar famous, but it’s Tribeca Grand’s Church Lounge that revolutionized it. Dead center in the hotel’s open triangular atrium, the Church Lounge offers an intimate aside for the day and evening and turns into a key destination at night. The classic American menu offers everything from light appetizers to three-course meals, designed exclusively by the Tribeca Grand chefs. And drink-wise, the Church lounge offers a wealth of signature house cocktails—something for every sincere drinker—including the Tartini, the Grand Margarita, and the Perfect Ten along with specialty martinis created specially for the bar.

On Sundays, from 10am to 3pm, the lounge hosts the leisurely Grand Sunday Brunch. The gourmet buffet offers a variety of hot and cold selections for breakfast and lunch, including omelets and waffles made to order, oysters on the half shell, jumbo shrimp cocktail, quiche selection, fresh salads, antipasti, breads and pastries, cheese and seasonal fruits, and homemade desserts. There are also complimentary children’s films running throughout the day for kids in the Grand Screening Room.

Wanted to splurge in NYC, and booked a room here. I have mixed feelings about it. The room felt like the absolute pinnacle of design - from about 2003. It just seems that time has ever so slightly passed the Tribeca Grand by. In a regular hotel, that's fine, but I honestly expected more given their reputation. Try the SoHo Grand instead!
