This is an excellent hotel.
We had been to Cologne two years ago, and stayed in a hotel that was pretty rough, so we really searched this one out.
It is just 2-300 metres from the Dom and is in a quiet location though opposite the Deutsche Post Office.
The rooms were silent, the staff were polite, and efficient, even to the room cleaners that said Guten Morgen every day.
We did not eat in the hotel, as the markets are close by, but the restaurant/bar area appeared to be as good.
The hotel, especially the rooms, was spotlessly clean with crisp white bedding.
The bathroom was like an operating theatre and even the chrome fittings were polished.
My only slight niggle was that we found the A/C in the rooms uncontrollable and was set at 22C, which was a little warm for us. We opened the window though and that brought the temperature down, at the expense of sacrificing the silence.
I would have no hesitation in staying here again, and would definately recommend this to all that are looking for a central place to stay.
It wasn't cheap, especially with the Euro as it is against the Pound at the time, but it was well worth it.
I hope this helps someone.

Very good and comfortable hotel, just a few minutes walk from the magnificent Dom and very close to the station.
Very relaxed hotel which had plenty of guests for Cologne Pride (CSD).
Rooms comfortable, good bathrooms and outstanding value.
Would definitely stay again especially at such fantastic rates.

The room at Lindner Dom was the biggest hotel room that we stayed in during our trip to Europe. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and everything was super clean. Also, the hotel has a great location - within a few blocks from the train station, the Dom and old town.
