What Travellers Like
- We were in Room 208, which I think is larger and, being a corner room, has more windows than other rooms we saw while walking through the halls. We absolutely loved this room and the hotel! The hotel is within easy walking distance to the cathedral and the Rhine is about a block away (we could see it from our window. The staff is amazingly helpful and speak English perfectly. Breakfast is included in the cost of the hotel. The hotel is clean, attractive, newly renovated and every room has a flat screen TV.. Read review
Posted: Sep 04, 2006 - LyndaMN - We chose the hotel because of its pool and proximity to downtown. We asked for fans in our rooms and it was brought up immediately. We also asked for an extra bed (cot) which I slept in and found to be very comfortable. The pool was very nice and the breakfast was fantastic. The restaurants along the Rhine were numerous and the hotel staff was very helpful in helping us select one. Oh yes, the rooms were very clean and comfortable.. Read review
Posted: Feb 13, 2007 - harrier86 - The hotel has a friendly and informal feel about it. The staff are very keen to help in any way they can and always have a smile on there face. The location of the Lyskirchen is very good, just 100 meters from the river and approx 10 mins walk to the Cathedral. Our room was a good size, comfortable and had a balcony overlooking the back of the Hotel. Had breakfast in the hotel on the first morning and found the food good but had to wait a long time for the buffet to be replenished and it all got a bit tedious (and at €14 each a bit expensive). This cafe had excellent food and a great atmosphere whether eating inside or out.. Read review

The hotel is roughly a 7 euro taxi journey from the central train station and when we arrived I was not alarmed at the fact that that hotel did not look stunning from the outside due to having read lots of good things about it on this website.
