Spacious and clean room for the price and location. Poor front desk service. No lift for my room on the first floor. Ask for the room where you can access with a lift

The room itself was clean, comfortable, and attractive. However, there was no mention in the ad that there is no elevator and guests must lug their baggage up several (in our case, five) flights of stairs.

Best point was the sheer convenience - so close to Hauptbahnhof and Dom, and easy to find somewhere to eat nearby, even late at night. Room good, quiet (overlooking inner courtyard of other buildings), bed comfortable. Good breakfast, especially for overall price. Easy to do online booking/check-in.

This hotel is a great value if you can sleep through a lot of traffic and street noise (I had to have ear plugs in and a cover over my eyes to sleep). The location is great, walking distrance to everything we wanted to do in Cologne, just one block from the visitors center and very close to the train station. Our room was above a Chinese Restaurant (which we couldn't hear or anything) but the restaurant sign was outside our hotel window (our room glowed from the sign until it shut off between 10:30 and 11pm). It's not the kind of hotel you can just ask for another room at, from what I understand all the rooms have a disadvantage of some sort (small, smells, etc). If you stay here you won't want to hang out in your room much more than just trying to sleep. We opted out of paying for breakfast at the hotel. Again, not bad if you don't need complete silence to sleep. Next time we find ourselves in Cologne we will probably find a quiet hotel along the river that is still in walking distance from the cathederal.
