Posted: Mar 24, 2011 - Heidelberg Castle, shopping district, historic buildings and churches, Philosophers Walk, great restaurants, etc. We had a rental car, so we made prior arrangements with the hotel management for parking. The rooms were a nice size for Germany and the room was very clean and orderly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The day manager was great at offering directions and site seeing information. However, keep in mind, that the hotel is over 300 years old and the bathrooms were added in more recent times. Second, the night desk person was a heavy smoker, so the lobby and stairwell smelled like smoke in the mornings.. Read review

minute walk to the train up to the castle and bridge is spectacular. In addition a nice place to see, the price is reasonable EUR 135 and helpful & entertaining staff I have come across
in many years of travelling. Rooms are large, the next morning he remembered our drink order – very impressive and their level of English was excellent was brilliant as my German is very poor. . Read review
