Hotel Eggers is located in the Hamburg suburb of Rahlstedt, a bit long for a daily tourist commute into downtown Hamburg, a bus/subway/train ride of about 45 min depending on which combination you take. The rooms are modern with a shower, wifi, and a good-sized closet but no bureau (small shelves in closet). Very friendly evening front desk clerk, sumptuous breakfast, nice pool area (1 person hot tub empties after every use and costs 5.50 euros for 20 minutes). excercise room is a stairmaster and 2 weight machines. Couple of negatives were tall & narrow window in 1 corner of the room and computer system problem prevented use of room telephone and only 1 room key being available. Would stay there again to visit relatives in the area. Restaurant had a good menu and most selections ordered were tasty.

very really very nice place... although it is far from railway station and the airport. but very quiet and nice place

We travelled as a group of 3 mature couples and two youngsters. The rooms were ok, clean, quiet, sufficiently spacious and decently furnished. We were not content with the service. The employees' manners were a bit rude, which may have been meant to be witty (at Berlin you would call that "Kodderschnauze"), but seemed inadequate to us. It was hard work to persuade the staff to make a reservation for a table for breakfast (since we were 8 and wanted to have breakfast together) and to provide a candle for my husband's birthday.

This was an excellent small hotel, despite being a bit hard to find. The suburban neighborhood location is, however, quite pleasant, and after parking our car, we took the bus across the street to the U-Bahn and then downtown. Ultra-modern features, free parking, wireless, helpful staff, sumptuous breakfast buffet. I will definitely return!
