the area around the hotel is a little seedy with sex shops, but not in an aggressive way.

A nice and convenient hotel at a reasonable price. Very hospitable and service-minded staff. We did not feel unsecure or bothered at all by the somwhat sordid location of the hotel in the vicinity of the Main Central Station.

We came to Hamburg by train. The hotel is very easy to find and to reach from the Hamburg Mail Railway Station (only about 5 min. by foot). The neighborhood is not very nice - many porn cinemas and "ladies for sale" - but we never found it unsafe. The hotel itself is on the second floor, but easy to reach. We found the service very friendly and eager to answer our questions - we even had some good advice regarding public transportation. We had two double rooms - both of them OK and well equiped. The breakfast buffet was not the best we have had in Germany - but absolutely OK! We can absolutely recommend this hotel.
