Location

Goslar, magical Imperial town with 46,000 inhabitants on the northern edge of the National Park Harz. Here the past surrounds you. Over 1000 age-bent half-timber houses line the narrow crooked cobble-stoned streets. Entire streets have remained unchanged over the centuries. For the visitor today, Goslar's poverty in the 16th century is a stroke of good fortune. Existing buildings were maintained and their magnificence has been preserved until today.

We stayed at the Kaiserworth for 2 weeks in June and loved it so much that we stayed again in September. Beautiful, historic hotel, with excellent service and food. The staff are a credit to the Management. Even though this Hotel is in the Market Square, it is really peaceful and quiet. Although we travelled by train, we found lots to do, both in Goslar itself, and the surrounding area. Goslar is a very picturesque town, and is full of history. There is an excellent bus service throughout the Harz Mountains, which allowed us to visit several towns and villages in the region. This whole area is really beautiful, typically German and a must to see. No real dislikes, except that we have to book well in advance if we want to stay for more than a few days! We fully intend to return next Summer.

We spent 3 nights at this historic hotel. The hotel is right on the town square. We had a very large room over looking the Christmas Market and all the activities. I had reserved a less expensive room, using the hotel website. The hotel advised me that the rooms on the upper floors have a very low ceiling, so I decided to upgrade to a larger room. The room, staff and food was excellent. Goslar is located in a perfect spot to explore the area.
