We have just spent 5 nights in this hotel (B&B, no restaurant) and found it ideal. It is small, just 10 rooms - we took a double and a triple both en suite, tastefully furnished, clean, warm and welcoming. The breakfast room is small, but adequate and food gorgeous, plentiful and well presented. The Millenium is well situated, just yards down the road from the railway station to the boat station which is opposite, so views across the lake from the tiny balconies at the front are great. Perhaps one small niggle, the balconies are little, long and narrow with a small table and two chairs. English is spoken by the friendly, very anxious to please, staff and we shall certainly patronise the hotel again.

I can't say enough about this fantastic little hotel and the couple that runs it! I only wish there were more gems like this in Europe! This is the first place I've stayed at the made me want to write a reivew. We arrived early on a Friday morning and the couple that runs the hotel happily checked us in early and held our bags and brought them to our room when it was ready, allowing us to explore the (beautiful!) city. The location of the hotel is perfect, very short walk to the train station and right across the street from the water. It is right in the heart of the city. The lobby was an extremely nice welcome to the hotel and consistent with the rest of the building. The room was very clean and nicely decorated and the bathroom was absolutely immaculate (a huge, huge plus!). Breakfast was great! The breakfast room was very well decorated as well (with great attention to detail) and they had a nice spread of fresh food. The second morning we were there, the woman running the hotel remembered that I drank decaf coffee and put a pot on for me as soon as we walked in to eat! The night we arrived, her husband offered to go out and buy eggs and bacon/sausage for us since we were Americans...he didn't want the typical European breakfast to disappoint us! We truly could not believe how nice this was! The couple running this fine hotel made our stay in Ticino incredible, they gave us wonderful recommendations of places to go and places to avoid and even planned out an entire day trip for us that allowed us to take a train ride through the hundred valleys, into Italy, and then return by boat - it was a great way to get to know the area on our first trip and it was something we would have never known to do without their help! They made our stay in Locarno an absolute pleasure and we wouldn't stay anywhere else! The only thing I would make note of is that the rooms (at least the one we were in) was on the small side...room for the bed, a wardrobe and small desk and that was it. It didn't bother us in the least, but I thought I would mention it in case someone was looking for a large/spacious room.
