Just got back from a stay at the Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Frankfurt. I thought the hotel was beautiful. It was clean, nicely decorated and convenient to the airport. The hotel shuttle runs every 15 minutes and is very timely. The hotel has a great lobby bar where travelers can have a drink and talk. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a hotel at the Frankfurt Airport.

My family was put up here after my flight was cancelled. The staff did an outstanding job to handle over 300 people from my aircraft and another that was broken. However, the room wasn't that great. The air conditioner didn't work. A staff member looked at it and said that it was just slow, but the fan never came on during my entire stay. I only had about 2 minutes of hot water in the bathroom, and it remained cold there after. Fortunatley, I had a airline voucher for lunch as our overpriced lunch of sandwiches and burgers, along with soda for 5 cost $147. Also don't use the phone to call stateside with a credit card. A 3 minute call costs about $35. Take the 10 minute walk to the airport Terminal 2 to use a pay phone.

My company arranged for us to put up here so we did not pay for it and also, we did not ask to stay here.

Front desk receptionists were low-class and extremely rude and disrespectful! First, they got my last name mixed up and when I asked for it to be corrected, this guy brushed me off rudely that my company must have given the wrong name to the hotel. Upon checking, there wasn't any errors given by my company, but it was the staff who had entered the wrong name. Whatever it was, they should change it and what's so difficult about that. He made an extremely disrespectful comment by saying, 'You don't have to cry like a baby!' which got to me. All the way I was asking him politely and nicely and he did not have to be a racist by being rude to me for no apparent reasons! It was after I gave him a loud scolding that he finally apologised. But it was too late.

I gave the General Manager a call and the secretary apologised, sending 2 small boxes of chocolates and a letter of apology. But seriously, what's the point? My only advise is to choose a hotel that doesn't put you down.

Throughout my several stays, the hotel has always 'forgotten' to place the complimentary bottle of water in my room. I had to always call and ask for it and wait for hours before it got delivered.

If you are Asian, avoid this hotel at all costs to avoid being judged and treated rudely for no apparent reason. I won't stay there ever again even if it was for free!

I had to spend one night in Frankfurt due to a cancelled flight, and I was happy that the Steigenberger Airport hotel was able to accommodate me. The shuttle bus arrived promptly, I arrived in minutes to the hotel and the check-in process was quick and courteous. They even upgraded my room at no extra charge. My accommodations were clean, comfortable and very quiet considering the very close proximity to the airport. Although the food was very good, I think that the cost was on the high side. The buffet breakfast was 25 euros, and in my opinion, not worth that. For those on a tight budget, there is a small store at a service station next door where you can purchase food at a much lower price. I would not hesitate to stay here again should the need arise, and was very pleased with the hotel.
