NH Frankfurt Airport - Frankfurt/Main, Germany     

We stayed at this hotel September 18,2007 having booked reservations online. The booking site clearly stated that the price included breakfast and free airport shuttle. While we were pleased with the location and the very nice modern room and the airport shuttle a debate ensued when we went to check out over breakfast. The hotel claimed that the booking site had merely intended that breakfast was available not complimentary. They wished to charge 12 Euros per person, After consultation with the manager they did not charge for breakfast But it was a hassel that I would have liked to avoid. Anyhow breakfast was a very nice buffet while a snack late the evening before took forever and was outrageously overpriced.

This is a very nice hotel in close proximity to the airport. The hotel has a modern, hip feel to it and is reasonable priced. The rooms are very clean and modern as well. There was a complimentary copy of Vogue (in German) in the room and a very nice toiletry set in the bathroom that really impressed me. It looked like one that would need to be purchased, but it was complimentary. The hotel offers a shuttle from the airport. However, when I arrived at the shuttle location at 11pm there was a huge crowd. I was there for about 15 minutes when an NH shuttle arrived. There was a mad rush by a number of people to get on. Some tried to get on by hiding in the luggage compartment. The driver demanded that they get out. All the while there was a lot of shouting and yelling. One man, who did not get on, said he had been waiting for an hour. The driver, who at this point also got upset, placed a phone call. It appeared that he was demanding more shuttle service. I didn't feel like waiting and battling the crowd so I took a taxi which set me back 15 Euros. Once I got to the hotel I asked if breakfast was included in the room charge. The receptionist said yes. However, when I went to pay my bill they had charged me 20 Euros for breakfast. I told the woman that I was told there would be no charge. She denied that that wasn't possible. At this point I told her about the shuttle experience and having to pay for a taxi. She said that the shuttle runs every 20 minutes so it was not possible that the service was inadequate. Even though everything I told her was "not possible," she did remove the breakfast charge. Overall this is a very clean and smart looking hotel. I would stay there again without question. I would rate it a 4 star by American standards.
