Europaischer Hof Marburg - Marburg an der Lahn, Germany 

We visit Marburg often, first time at the Europaischer Hof aka Marburger Hof and thoroughly enjoyed the services: bedroom/sitting room and bathroom were large, bright, and airy. As typical there was no airconditioning so I recommend you bring at least on fan (which we had done). Hotel is near the lovely old botanical garden and the beautiful St. Elizabeth Church, which has a very interesting history. The old town is also within a reasonable walking distance (and elevator ride) from the hotel. Many excellent small restaurants are nearby. The breakfast buffet (included) was excellent and included a wide variety of cold cuts and two varieties of cooked egg with sausage & bacon. An extensive variety of breads, cheeses and cereals and fruit made for an excellent and very filling meal. The only negative is the parking garage. At least 20 spaces were available but their surrounded by metal rails and it took a lot of maneuvering to safely park a vehicle even a small German car! Upon checkout, we reserved a room for our visit the following month.

Hotel is located on a one way street which caused difficulty. We passed Marburger Hof several times before going in to ask directions to Europaischer Hof. Same hotel with a new name. Had a junior suite which was well equipped with separate sitting room and was very comfortable. Lots of windows and light. Unattractive furniture. Very accommodating desk staff and good buffet breakfast included. Just down the street from Elisabethkirche. Hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the lift that carries you up to Marktplatz.Wonderful old town with lots of shops and restaurants. Good sized walk to the Schloss.
