ants in the bathroom..the complimentary coffee was nice though in the lobby, so too was my pic of the fire engine that answered the fire alarm..twice, the second time we were leaving the hotel we were bumping into others walking in, they had been told by the management that it was ok to saunter back in, i replied i think the fire dept should be the ones telling us that!!

My boyfriend and I just came back from our DC Cherry Blossom trip. At first we were going to book the Best Western Capitol Skyline. However, the price went up right before we decided to book and luckily we found the one in Rosslyn. I've stayed at Best Western numerous times and even though none of them was "luxury", they were always clean and comfortable and this one is no exception. It is only a 5-10 minutes drive from The Mall, and with the help of our GPS we found the hotel without any difficulties.
We arrived at around 9pm and there was a little wait to check-in (not their fault though since there were 4 people in front of us and they all checked-in separately). Although I requested a room on a higher floor, we were assigned to one that was on the first floor at the corner. I had also requested a king-size bed but ended up with 2 queen-size. Not a big problem for us since we were only staying for about 12 hours. For my understanding, this hotel used to be Quality Inn and Best Western took over not long ago and I could see that it had some improvements done recently. The hotel lobby looked very new, and our room was equipped with flat-panel TV, microwave, and a small fridge. The bathroom has been updated, with the curved shower curtain rod to give more elbrow space, and also relatvely new shower head. I am not sure if all the rooms are the same, but ours has two vanity areas which is a big plus. My only complain was the shower tiles do need some scrubbing. The beddings look very new also. Very soft comforters instead of old blankets with flat sheets as most of the "motel-class" hotel use. There were even "runners" on top of the comforters. The room also had a new "air conditioner" that offers both hot and cold air. It also came with iron and ironing board, however, there was no alarm clock. We did not have enough time to visit the pool so I can't comment on that. In terms of location, it was quite a walk to the nearby Metro station. We drove and park our car near the station instead of walking all the way. There are 12-hour parking meters nearby, and they are free on Saturdays & Sundays.
Both my boyfriend and I are happy with our stay at Best Western Rossly, especially with the price that we paid for (around $100 after tax), with free parking.
