Radisson SAS Media Harbour Hotel details: Like exclamation marks, 7 artworks stand in front of the hotel and link with its architecture. The extravagant, V-shaped façade is made of Brazilian quartzose structured slate with a cloud-like pattern. The slanting outer walls have large panoramic windows and seem to be transparent, light and diffident. The 7 monumental steel columns, each 11 meters tall, simply shaped and decorated with modern patterns, interact with the architecture as if in a dialogue.
Düsseldorfs first, and up to now only, design hotel means not only accommodation to its guests – it is also a meeting point. You will notice this from the first moment you enter the lobby through the Barolo-red entrance. There is no reception desk, but instead an impressive wine cabinet (which is illuminated in the evening) and a huge handmade luster made of glittering glass stones. The wine cabinet acts as a divider, separating the lounge, with its leather chairs and artificial fireplace, from the restaurant and private dining room.
