The hotel is very modern and has a lovely view of the river. Its a very plesant 5 minute walk from the centre of the oldtown which in summer is very busy with tourists from all over Europe. 3more on DHR.com

This Hotel is a perfect place to stay. Stuff is very friendly, rooms are clean and large.
You only need a 5 minutes walk on the riverside to the historical city (Semper Opera House, Zwinger, ?).

Yes, the business about the elevator cards is true. Yes, it's also true that the rooms not facing the river go to a noisy street and an empty lot. However, the rooms are among the biggest I have ever seen, you could almost have a little ball in them. I found the staff very helpful and friendly (including porters), the location excellent (five minutes walk to the main attractions) and the breakfast buffet alone is enough to justify the price, I think. It is unbelievable; the only problem being that after this breakfast buffet, nothing less will ever feel good enough again! Only serious downside: smoking is permitted in the lobby and at least in part of the breakfast area and I AM JUST NOT READY TO ACCEPT THAT ANY LONGER.
