Hotel Royal Esplanade - Diano Marina, Italy 

The hotel overall needs some money spending on it, the dining room is pink to the extreme! The food however is quite good for what we paid. The breakfasts are good, bacon eggs or continental choices and plenty of it. The evening meals were good too and there were two evenings when the hotel put on a buffet by the pool. The waiting staff were excellent, especially Ibrahim who worked very hard and was very obliging. The room was small and looked recently decorated, the furniture whilst cheap looking also looked fairly new. The bathroom however was another story! The shower was tiny and impossible to use with the curtain (which was horrible) pulled, therefore the floor got wet and slippery. The cleaner was very good but there was rotten wood around the door and generally it could have been better. During most of the day the water was only luke warm, however it was so hot that was a relief. The main problem was lack of sleep due to the neighbours barking dog!!! The dog obviously did not like being left outside when the owner went to work in the evening and barked VERY LOUDLY AND INCESSANTLY, AND I DO MEAN INCESSANTLY, ALL NIGHT, 7pm to 3 or 4 am. We were shattered by the end of the week. The owner of the hotel said the police and animal organisation were unable to do anything but I find that hard to believe. Despite all this we enjoyed our holiday, Diano Marina is a pretty place.

Just spent 5 nights at this hotel, went with Skills holidays of nottingham.the Driver & tour rep were very nice people, nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel staff were very friendly & helpfull.... The rooms are spaceous & clean.Only a minor complaint with the bathroom, the bath was narrow, the shower didnt have any where to hang the shower head up had to hold it above head, the shower curtain was a bit make shift, but did what it was meant to do... Food was very good, different choice every night, endless free wine if you wanted it... the swimming pool was unheated, but the heat from the sun warmed it up... Little noise at night from dogs barking,bikes going past & trains passing by at rear of hotel, otherwise it's very quiet at night The hotel is only 5mins walk from beach... "Beaware" most of the beaches are owned by other hotels,only one part is for public use, it gets very crowded.. Diano marina itself is a lovely place, the locals are only too pleased to help, had a quiet & paeceful holiday there... Would go there again, and recommend this hotel
