The old town of Bonn is a colourful quarter, where you can find houses from the turn of the century. A few years ago, the streets were rebuilt in an old-fashioned style and, in the Heerstreet, findings from the Roman era also exist. Small and cosy restaurants and interesting shops can be found in the area. Some of the museums are in walking distance, such as Beethoven's birthplace, the house of the artist August Macke and the Museum of Women. Via the subway, it takes only 10 minutes to reach the Museumsmeile and the former government and parliament district. The area includes the Museum of Art, the former government and a museum of German history.

P.S. Etwas Gutes: Bio-Wurst am Büffett!

A friend and I needed a place to stay for one night in January in Bonn. We looked on hostels.com before we headed there and the Hotel Aigner was listed on their website so we wrote down their information. We just showed up on arrival and the staff was very nice. We got a room for two with twin beds. The room was really spacious for Europe and the beds were really comfortable. The bathroom was really nice and clean and also pretty spacious. It was really quiet in the hotel so we had a peaceful stay. The best part was that they had a pants presser in the room. It was probably the most unusual thing I have ever seen in a budget hotel, but in a good way.
