Express by Holiday Inn Redditch - Redditch, United Kingdom     

We stayed here after a visit to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, as all closer hotels were either full or extortionately priced. The first impression was of a brand-new building - both the public areas and our room were absolutely immaculate; I was really surprised to find it had been open for a year. Although the hotel was full and the check-in busy the young Asian man on duty couldn't have been more pleasant. The room was small but nicely furnished with a good quality LCD TV, a powerful shower, and reasonably priced internet access. We intended going out for a meal, but checked the bar menu first and it looked interesting so we stayed. I'm a vegetarian so I asked what the "Curry of the Day" was but it was Chicken Tikka. "No problem" said the smiling barman: "We'll make a vegetable curry for you. How hot would you like it?" We all enjoyed a delicious meal, with attentive and friendly service worthy of a top restaurant. As others have reported, the hotel is well situated between the station and a shopping centre, and is easy to find by car just off the Ring Road. We've stayed at Holiday Inn Express hotels all over the country, but Redditch was easily the best, just couldn't be faulted.

I stayed one Sunday night at this hotel. I was arriving late and phoned to say that I wouldn't be getting there until 11pm. The reception staff were very helpful though the bar closed as I arrived! The staff made this rather clinical modern hotel special and gave breakfast a friendly atmosphere. It is no frills, but I paid ?50 for the bed and breakfast deal and was satisfied with my room which was clean and quiet. It appears handy for the station but otherwise is surrounded by housing. Other guests appeared to be business folk or retired people on minibreaks.
