We spent two nights at the Salvator in June 2008. It is a very good value hotel for the budget minded and in a very good location for tourist. The hotel is located on a small street directly behind the Palladium Shopping Mall and just a short walk to the beginning of Old Town. Although somewhat difficult to find, it is in a very quiet location and still close to everything you might need or want to see. The closest tram and Metro stop is directly in front of the mall, perhaps 300-400 yards from the hotel. The mall is fairly new and has everything you might expect to include good coffee shops, bars, restaurants and a fast food court. Across from the mall is a good food market (underground) where you can get good priced bottled water, beer, liquor and other needed items.
The hotel itself is above average. It has many facilities you might need including a good restaurant and bar, a gift shop that sells metro tickets, an internet station, wi-fi throughout (free), baggage holding, tourist information including maps and a fairly good breakfast including coffee, tea, juice, breads, eggs, cereals, meats & cheezes and an assortment of breads. There is an elevator. All of the rooms open to an interior courtyard and at times it can be noisy when travelers are coming and going. The rooms are clean and the furniture is adequate but a little dated. We had no in-room safe. The bathroom shower had no curtain so the floor easily became wet. There was a small shelf above the sink for toiletries. Most of the spaces in the hotel seem a little tight. All-in-all the hotel was very adequate.

Very good hotel, with a lovely atmosphere. The decoration of the rooms is a bit old-fashioned, but it's charming. The atmosphere is great, with an argentinan restaurant and a very good and complete breakfast. Ubication is also perfect.
