I stayed at the Sofitel in Berlin on a business trip with my children. It was recommended by a business contact. It is a wonderful, modern hotel. The pool was closed for repair, but we did not miss it. The buffet breakfast was included in our rate and was fabulous - very gourmet. Quite expensive, however, if purchased separately. We had a "pricey" lunch there upon arrival, but it was wonderfully served and delicious. The food had an oriental flair - something unexpected by us, being in Germany. The beds and rooms were quite nice and comfortable, and the staff very helpful. The hotel is across from the Tiergarten which is a wonderful park. Also near a major shopping district and within comfortable walking distance to the subways and busses. I have made arrangements for my family to stay there again this summer when we return.

We went on a four day tour to Berlin. We were travelling with a 1 year old boy.
The hotel is a new and nice hotel located close to the Zoo. It takes about 10 minutes walk to reach Ged?nknis church and KaDeWe shopping center.
The rooms are fairly big and the furniture has Scandinavian design. The hotel is fairly new and clean. We used the pool every day and I think that the pool is the largest in Berlin (for a hotel pool). There are sauna and other services in the pool area.
The price is fair. We paid about 110 Euros pr. room excl. breakfast which was 24 euro each (expensive). The breakfast is large and good though.
My parents went the hotel restaurant and were very satisfied.
We have planned another trip to the hotel in December 2008.
