Citylight Hotel - Berlin, Germany     

We stayed in this hotel for 4 days and 3 nights. Our initial impression of the hotel was that it is clean and cozy. Our room was comfortable with clean sheets, towels and toilet. Gesundbrunnen was the nearest metro station to the hotel (around 300 meters away). The area is safe. There was only one, as they say, fly in the soup… The day before our departure we requested the girl in the front desk if she could ask the kitchen if we can have an earlier breakfast at 6:30 am, the regular schedule being 7 am, for we’ll be leaving early. She did as we requested. She promptly called up the kitchen and assured us that they could accommodate our request. Believing that we can have our breakfast at 6:30 am as arranged, I gave my husband his medicines for his diabetes at 6:10 am the following day. We went down to the dining area at 6:25 am. We saw that man in charge of the kitchen arrive at 6:30. We waited outside the dining area but to our surprise the man in-charge of the kitchen stormed out of the dining area, glared at us and in a not so friendly manner said that he will serve breakfast at 7:00 am. We were caught by surprise at his attitude and tried to explain that we coordinated with the front desk and they said it was okay. He even ignored the front desk person! He was so consistent with his arrogance! We even witnessed how he growled at a poor teenager who was simply emptying the milk from her bowl of cereals! I don’t know how you could describe that kind of service to hotel clients! If you would like to pay and be treated in that manner, it’s up to you!

I was a solo traveler and still got a huge room which was spotless. Great place, although the area could be a little questionable at night but was very safe in the day. Located outside the main city but what the heck, you have to take the bahn to get anywhere anyway. It was hot (around high 80s) when I was there and the rooms don't cool down until dark (around 10pm) so don't go here in the summer.
