What Travellers Like

My teenage daughter and iI have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Agon Opera and were pleasantjy surprised with the standard of accommodation, great location and friendly staff. The breakfast was good and plentiful and it is worth asking for a room on the fifth floor for the view alone! The aircon was a must for the 36+ heatwave and being so close to both trains and buses was brilliant. There are numerous places to eat in the area but I would highly recommend the brilliant Malaysian restaurant in the Wilmersdorfstrasse 79 where the daily menus are delicious and the staff wonderful.. Bring your own toiletries & soap (plenty because the water is hard), your travel kettle, hairdryer, travel iron & alarm clock and you will find it hard to fault this hotel. I stayed in a twin room on the fourth floor for 3 nights in August - see my photos - and paid £140 through Opodo - cheaper than a Travel Inn! All the rooms seem similar on the fire plan (except the corner rooms are larger and those on the top floor have the balconey -see official photos), which probably explains the consistent reviews. It is a bit noisy if the windows are open because of the traffic but shut the wide-gap double glazed windows and very thick curtains and the room is so quiet we overslept to 10. The air conditioning works without the key, so the room was cool at all times. My room seems to have had new mattresses & carpet in the last 12 month. Not all rooms have a fridge and we eventually found the instructions to the digital safe under the towels in the bathroom but no real problems. The twin beds were very close together (actually touching) but could be pulled forward & pushed apart if you want to without losing too much space. Free internet in reception, helpful Engish-speaking staff, and big breakfasts are all a bonus.. Read review

If you need to stay in a place near center to all and safe area, great transport from the airport, this just is it! Room is big, not special but bathroom wonderful and most of all, the breakfast room is just what you need for the travellers, we usually ate around 8 or 9 and sometimes they did not have enough coffe pots, but don't worry service was nothing to complain about. Take time to eat great brown bread and eggs while looking out the view which is nice for breakfast. No frig in the room but all the night staff will help you by keeping it in there frig at the counter, great italian near by,malaysian as well, supermarket on way to the hotel as well , to get water and stuff. In means of you get a descent hotel with descent price in a best spot in town.. Read review
