Hotel Die Post - Seefeld in Tirol, Austria     

Cet hotel est d'une grande classe et mérite tout le bien que l'on pense de lui .A tel point que nous avons cherché une critique a émettre ,après réflexion et parce que tout est perfectible , nous pensons que l'air conditionné ,dans le restaurant, serait le bien-venu .On pourrait aussi avoir ,pour un hotel de cette classe ,un centre de remise en forme (piscine , sauna, jaccuzi ) Mais que tout ceci ne fasse pas oublier le séjour superbe que l'on passe à Seefeld .Le service est a la hauteur et fort sympathique .Tout est fait pour que l'on se sente à l'aise Félicitations et je n'ai qu'un espoir, y retourner le plus vite possible

This hotel is right in the centre of Seefeld, on the main square, and for this reason is a good choice as the main tourist areas and the station are right on the doorstep. There is free parking behind the hotel, shared with the Spar supermarket nextdoor. We booked a superior room, and chose the Hotel Die Post on the basis that the receptionist assured me by email that all such rooms have a private balcony (this is something that is important to us). When we arrived, however, we were disappointed to find that the room had a shared wrap-around balcony, with not much privacy. However, the hotel was fully-booked and so we could not be moved to another room. Some superior rooms do have private balconies, but many do not, and some rooms even led out onto what was more like a communal sunbathing area with not much of a view (so we were not as unlucky as some). This may not be important to you, but if it is you need to specify very clearly at the time of booking and keep a record of the request. The room itself was pleasant, the bed was reasonably comfortable, but we found the duvets far too thick for this time of year. The room became stuffy even on colder days, and so opening the window was necessary, but as the hotel is in the centre you get a lot of noise from the street and from the entertainment in the nearby bars. This usually didn't go on too late, but may be a concern if you like to go to sleep early. The bathroom was OK, functional rather than luxurious, with a rather annoying shower (not very powerful and situated in the middle of the bath). We were surpised, as this is a 4 star hotel, to find no toiletries in the bathroom; even the youth hostels I have stayed in have provided a tablet of soap! However, the room was certainly comfortable enough for the 5 nights we were there. The food here was very good. There is a salad buffet every night, followed by a choice of two starters, soup, a choice of three/four main courses, and a choice of two desserts. House wine, beer and mineral water are free with the meals. The gala dinner was very good, several courses buffet-style. On a few occasions one or two of the dishes were disappointingly massed-produced/bought-in, but we found this to be the exception rather than the rule. The breakfasts were very good too, lots of high quality hot and cold dishes. The waiting staff were especially good, friendly and efficient, particularly Walter who enthusiastically used his few words of English to great effect! We have high expectations when it comes to food and were happy with this hotel. This is a good value hotel, with friendly staff, excellent food and decent rooms. We would recommend it, but advise requesting a quiet room or private balcony if this is important to you. And bring your own soap!
