Hotel Cascais Mirage is the most modern 5-star hotel along the luxurious coast of Estoril, located just in front of the ocean and 200 metres away from the beach.

The hotel features 192 luxurious rooms that include 11 suites and 3 junior suites, most of them with breathtaking views over the ocean, Cascais Bay and its marina. The hotel has 2 restaurants, 2 bars (Acqua Bar open only during the summer) and an incredible infinity edge pool that creates the feeling of being submerged in the endless ocean.

Built in 2004 as a result of a 50 million euro investment, the Hotel Cascais Mirage is the jewel in the crown of the Jose Cristovao hotel group.

All children are welcome and we have special services for them such as the children's pool, on-call babysitting services, a children's menu and toys in your room (on request).

Including a castle, plasma TV with the latest cartoons, Playstation 2 (on request), games and colouring books (amongst other things), children can be entertained for hours.

Thanks to its excellent location, Hotel Cascais Mirage offers a wide range of activities within a very short distance. The luxurious Estoril's Bay, the Marina of Cascais, the Casino of Estoril (the biggest in Europe), Sintra famous for it's centenary palaces, and the famous beach of Guincho, which is the scenario of the Windsurfing World Cup, are all easily reached.

Stayed for 5 nights and I thought the room, food, view, location and staff were top class. Two minor issues. 1. No tea/coffee making facility in our room and the hairdryer was pretty poor. 2. Some guests left towels on chairs at the pool early in the morning and on three of the days I was there did not arrive at pool until after two pm. Not expected in a 5 star hotel. I reported this to the lifeguard and she shrugged and said there was nothing she could do about it.

Can I say at the outset that the Miragem is a lovely hotel in almost every respect,and I would echo all the nice things that has been said by previous guests.The staff are really nice welcoming and friendly.The hotel itself is beautiful,lovely rooms all overlooking the pool and sea.The food is lovely with a nice buffet lunch.It has a fantastic restaurant serving wonderful food. So we are giving the Miragem top marks, we really enjoyed our stay,its a great hotel..................................IF............. you like this type of hotel.For all its fine furnishings, its grandeur ,its enormous lobby area with lovely sweeping staircase and beautiful fresh flower arangements,for me it lacked atmosphere.Its too big.It has no soul.I would have prefered something smaller more intimate. A major disappoint to me also was the location vis a vis the beach.This is NOT a beach hotel.To get to the beach you have to go down 3 floors out through the main lobby cross a very busy duel carrageway walk 100m ,again cross the busy carrageway into a dank graffiti covered underpass and emerge on the other side of the rail line to a concrete area then walk back 100m to a very crowded tiny beach. Once you are aware of these limitations you will have a wonderful stay at the Miragem. So my search for a nice hotel ON a beach continues.Any advise from tripadvisarians??very welcome.
