The hotel is one of three owned by a family company, and it is full of personality, with shipping antiques everywhere. We chose it for the location, in the heart of the Old Town. We went for a room on the top floor which has air conditioning, so that we could shut the windows at night and keep the noise out, but I'm not sure this was necessary as the streets seemed fairly quiet at night (late May, mid week). The top floor is just under the roof, so I suppose could get hot at night, though the weather did not allow us to test this. Our room was not particularly large, but adequate. Service is good. Not a cheap place, though pricewise I have ittle to compare it with in this city, but the location, the service, and the personal furnishing of the hotel all made for an excellent stay.

The location is excellent, just a couple of minutes from the royal palace and right in amongst the picturesque streets and squares of the Old Town. The rooms are quite small, but skilfully designed, and the beds are very comfortable. The hotel is full of interesting knick-knacks, some bordering on kitsch, and the decor is pleasant. The buffet breakfast is excellent, with plenty of good coffee. The full price is quite high - I benefited from a three-nights-for-the-price-of-two booked through Expedia. This made the rate much more reasonable. Overall, I would certainly recommend that a visitor to Stockholm should at least consider this interesting hotel.
