I and my two friends booked the hotel for two nights and we assumed a Best Western three stars would meet our requirements. When we entered the lobby of the hotel it was clear this was no where near representative of a three star establishment. The rug in the hallway was so worn out I can not imagine a less three star level of cleanliness. This was a worn out and shabby lobby. It was located on a very busy street and the room assigned to us was above the bus line terminus; the traffic of big, loaded trucks and buses was non-stop. The fumes and pollution was so thick I got a sore throat. I have stayed several times in two star hotels off Goblins street a few minutes from this hotel and they were spotless, the rooms clean and bright. Besides, when I asked the receptionist for an extra pillow because the pillow was so thin, he had to wrap the pillow in a cloth because he did not have an extra pillow case. We decided to leave the hotel the next day. When we asked the receptionist to call a cab he was not able to get a cab to the hotel. The receptionist sent us to the taxi line near the hotel but did not alert us that there would be a long wait at the taxi line near the hotel (we had a train to catch at Gare de Lyon). If a helpful Parisian did not suggest taking a bus we would have missed our train, too. Terrible experience, not a three star level of room or service, and very noise and polluted.

We have just spent 5 nights at the Hotel De Weha. The staff were excellent, very friendly and our room was very clean. The hotel is set in close proximity to the Place D'Italie which is a great place to stay. Everything you could need is on your doorstep. A wonderful shopping centre named Italie 2, a selection of good quality restaurants in the nearby Avenue Des Gobelins and Metro and bus links within 150 yards of the hotel's front door. Yes it can be noisy, but you don't visit a city centre expecting to hear birds singing and the sound of babbling brooks! If you do want an oriental meal there is an oriental district not too far away. We found that area and its people equally welcoming. We hope to return to the Hotel De Weha and the Place D'Italie.
