If you are looking for a getaway in the hills to just relax and look out the window this place is great. However, it is not very close to Berchtesgaden and if you're driving a car without a navigation system you'd better choose a different place. Winding around little country roads that seem like alleys at times we barely knew when we had gotten there because the signage was so poor. All in all, the breakfast was great, the staff were nice but we felt a little too secluded to enjoy ourselves. It was creepy feeling like we were the only ones in the place. Lights were turned off in the main floor very early and the area is so distant it was very mysterious. That combined with the very dated decor, I don't think we'd stay at this hotel again. For the money I'd much rather stay somewhere with some atmosphere and actually in the town rather than up in the hills by ourselves with a hotel staff that isn't even on the premises. We called for pillows after 8pm and were told that the owner had gone home for the night so we couldn't get anything. Just a little odd in today's day and age...
