Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten - Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany     

The Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten is just a few minutes walk from the train station, with great views of the mountains, overlooking a square which serves as a bus/taxi stance. It is midway between the more commercial Garmisch and the quieter Partenkirchen. Our room was quiet, comfortable and spacious with extra pillows and blankets being brought to our room within minutes of requesting them. The bathroom was small but perfectly adequate. However there were a few drawbacks. They were: the ultra-thin bedroom curtains meant that light streamed in from early dawn. Another was the loud, tinny pop music played throughout breakfast time. Also the hotel seemed to be understaffed so the buffet breakfast, although offering a good standard of food, was slow in being replenished. The coffee was weaker than typical for Germany. We found it strange that there never seemed to be any customers for dinner at the hotel. Would we use this hotel again? Probably not. We loved Garmisch-Partenkirchen and intend going back but next time will try another hotel.
