Das Steigenberger Hotel Bad Kissingen ist zweifelsohne das beste Hotel in der Stadt und liegt zentral im schönen Kurpark. Von außen ist das Gebäude eher zurückhaltend und versprüht wenig Charme. Im Innern atmet allerdings jede Ecke des weitläufigen Hauses Atmosphäre. Das Steigenberger ist ein klassisches Grandhotel mit riesigen, mit schweren Teppichen ausgelegten Gängen und Gobelins an den Wänden. Man würde sich nicht wundern, wenn einem an der nächsten Ecke eine kaiserliche Hoheit entgegenkäme. Trotzdem hat man es geschafft, das alt-ehrwürdige Haus so in Schuss zu halten, dass es keinen verstaubten Eindruck macht. Alles ist sauber und die Zimmer renoviert oder wenigstens gut gepflegt.
Die Gästezimmer sind geräumig und verfügen sogar über ein eigenes Ankleidezimmer, was bei längeren Aufenthalten sehr praktisch ist.
Da Bad Kissingen ein Kurort ist und ansonsten nicht allzu viel zu bieten hat, ist das Publikum entsprechend betagt. Überall im Ort – und im Hotel – trifft man auf Senioren und Kurpersonal. Das Unterhaltungsangebot ist entsprechend. Allerdings kommt man sich als Unter-Fünfzig-Jähriger in diesem Umfeld ungemein jung und gesund vor.
Das Steigenberger Hotel hat direkten Anschluss an ein großzügiges Hallenbad, dessen Benutzung im Zimmerpreis inbegriffen ist.
Besonders hervorzuheben ist auch das üppige und abwechslungsreiche Frühstücksbuffet u. a. mit Sekt und frisch gepresstem Orangensaft.
Das Personal ist jung durchweg freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Autos der ankommenden Gäste werden vom Parkservice rasch ins Parkhaus gebracht und an der Rezeption wird man herzlich und professionell empfangen.
Die Zimmerpreise dürften etwas höher liegen als in den anderen Hotels der Stadt, aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt und man bekommt gewohnt guten Steigenberger Service.
