Grand Hotel Elba International - Capoliveri, Italy 

My husband and I stayed 7 nights in the Grand Hotel Elba International in July for holiday. The hotel’s location is very nice. The hotel is on a hilltop and dominates the sea in front of it. So the view is fantastic. The hotel is not too luxury but has a good value for money. The staff is mixed: some of them friendly and helpful others not too much. In general is too young needs to be trained. We booked a Junior Suite and it was very spacious with a living room corner, with balcony and a fantastic panoramic view over the sea. The room was n° 327 - Every day the room was cleaned very well. Towels changed 2 time a day. Room prepared for the night daily with a little chocolate. The hotel don't obligate any guests to choose an half-board treatment and this is very good and unusual especially in sea-side hotels, where people are normally obliged to have half board. But we recommend anyway to choose half-board, because the food and cooking is very good. The only problem is the restaurant room. It is perfect for families, but is not romantic for a couple because is big, noisy and full of children. The best option is to ask for a table close to the windows overlooking the sea. The hotel has a private beach (few sand, mainly rocks) and you reach it by a lift. The beach restaurant is good for the food but for the location too. You can eat looking at the sea. The hotel give guests free canoes but they are few and was difficult to reserve one of them, because people tends to keep them for a lot of time. Our suggestion was to put a fixed maximum time for each client. In this way all the client can have the possibility to go by see with canoes. The hotel has two bar, one near the restaurant, and another one on the roof of the hotel where there was a large terrace and after dinner every night there was some live music. This hotel is perfect for the family but not too much for the romantic couple that needs more privacy, despite the location would be fantastic for couples.
