La Posada del Marquez - Lima, Peru     

The hotel, with its bright red façade, was well situated and had genuine old world charm, the reception staff spoke excellent English and where most helpful and went out of there way to get us on a morning city tour (our plane arrived 9 hours late). The rooms, which are basic and clean, have all the amenities you would expect from a budget hotel including TV, clock radio, a nice size bathroom with a shower with some real heat and water pressure. The breakfasts where very fundamental but OK and the location was on a quite side street a two minute walk from the main street and a pleasant walk from some great restaurants and bars as well as some excellent shopping. I guess you could walk to the ocean but I never tried. I would stay there again.
