Metropolitan Hansa - Berlin, Germany     

Been this hotel in June 08. It is a very stylish and modern hotel and greets you with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere... Also a very clean hotel! Most of staff at reception speaks good english and was very helpful. The only drawback was that we had to go up a couple of steps to reach our room as lift stopped at intermediate floor. Rooms quite stylish as well and beds quite comfy and clean. Overall it was a very good hotel, very close, [like a 15minute walk], to ku'damn, which means close to shops and restaurants; 3minute walk to a train station. A very good standard for its price!! [Though would not recommend it to disabled. ] Ingeneral, I would definitely recommend it to those who need a place to stay while exploring the city during most of the day . I would stay there again!

The hotel is convenient for the Tiergarten / K'Damm area of Berlin. The hotel is several building knocked into one. It has huge sprawling corridors, requiring step ups & downs different levels. The lift stops on a landing in between floors. So if you have alot of luggage it is a very awkward hotel to navigate. Due to the sprawling corridors & various emergency exit stairs, the "route" to reception was poorly marked- well not at all. To get to the breakfast room you have to exit the building & enter the bistro next door. Room was very basic, plain, dull & boring with very close views of other rooms/apartments. Much better hotels can be found in Berlin for a similar price.
