We stayed 5 nights at this hotel, which is "above" Prague Castle. Looking out the window the first morning, I saw the Monastery nearby, so we decided to try to walk there. It was a 5-minute walk, and from the there to the Castle another 10 minutes. We ended up all the way in the Old Town on foot, and took the tram back. There are no fewer than 5 tram lines that stop RIGHT IN FRONT of the hotel, with easy connections to anywhere in the City. The most popular #22 & #23 both stop there. I'd seen comments that the staff is unfriendly, but we didn't find that at all. Breakfast (buffet, included) was plentiful, but if you get there in the last minute they are quick to remove the food. Our main complaint was that the "smoking area" was just outside the breakfast room so you had to walk through the fog to get to breakfast. Rooms were clean and comfortable. A couple of GREAT things - there is a (somewhat hidden so look for it) ticket machine for local transit right outside the Hotel's front door. That was a GREAT help. Also, there are several very good restaurants nearby, including a family pizza parlor right across the street, a very nice Italian (home-made pasta) place 3 blocks up (cross the street and turn right), and several nice restaurants in the Monastery grounds. We thought this was a great bargain for the location.
