Hotel Rosary Garden details: A small, intimate hotel, located just outside the hubbub of central Florence, on the bottom edge of the city.

It is the perfect home base for combining a Tuscan countryside vacation and a Florence city break.

Each room is different from the other and is carefully furnished with cherry wood furniture and fine tapestries hand made by Florentine artisans.

There are a number of restaurants nearby, frequented by local people, as well as a shopping area and a shopping mall.

Particularly convenient for those who travel by car, easily accessible from the exit Firenze South of the A1 (Milan-Rome), but at the same time very close to the historical centre, which can be reached in 10 minutes by bus or taxi or 20 minutes walk.

Private parking available and adjoining restaurant.
24 hour front desk.

Completely refurbished, with a charming atmosphere, elegant and friendly at the same time, it is located in a residential area of Florence, a few steps away from the historical centre.

There are several restaurants close by and a nice shopping area, as well as the famous sights of Florence. It is particularly easy to visit the Chianti through the Wine Road and the Outlet Mall that has a variety of fashion shops.

Disabled facilities are available on request.

Location

Enjoy either touring the stunning Tuscan countryside or a city break in Florence with its wealth of historical sights.

Explore the Chianti region or the historical towns of San Gimignano, Siena or Volterra or the Chianti Wine Road with its famous cellars. Later, browse the The Mall, where you can discover designer clothes at discounted prices. Then, venture to the city centre to visit the Uffizi galleries, Michelangelo’s David or the cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore, known as The Duomo, offering spectacular views over the city. Take a trip to Bartolommeo Ammanati's Fountain of Neptune, located in the heart of the city, in Piazza della Signoria, a masterpiece of marble sculpture at the terminus of a still functioning Roman aqueduct, or to the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), which features a multitude of shops built upon its edges, held up by stilts. First constructed by the Etruscans in ancient times, this bridge is the only one in the city to have survived World War II intact.

For golf enthusiasts, visit the Ugolino Golf Club, one of the oldest courses in Italy, a few kms from the hotel. Embark on a stint of riding at the horse riding centre, hit a few shots at a tennis club and have a dip in the swimming pool which are all in the vicinity.

The very good Trip Advisor Reviews are spot on for this lovely , very clean and comfortable small hotel. The staff are always smiling and very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. It is not within our walking distance from the Centre of Florence however the location is easily reached by bus. The best ice cream we had in Italy is sold just around the corner from the hotel.

The Hotel Rosary Garden is a true gem! My wife and I spent three wonderful nights there in the Spring (2008), and it was absolutely perfect. Located outside the noise and crowds of downtown Florence, the Hotel Rosary Garden ("HSG") is well-situated in a quiet little neighborhood a little beyond the Bardini Gardens. One of the best gelato shops in all of Italy is right next door (and we tried many, many others). Nearby, within short five-minute walking distance, are several excellent restaurants. The hotel itself is everything you could ask for and more. Our room, a superior double, had HUGE vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams, a comfy sofa, a sizeable bathroom (for Italy), and many other niceties. The breakfasts, included in the price of the room, are served in a cozy little room and are quite tasty. There were also several rooms in the HSG set aside simply for relaxing, with free danish cookies, tea, and digestivos (liqueurs). In a word, wonderful. But the very best part of HSG is the owner, Monica. Although the staff is excellent, Monica is unparalleled as a host, concierge, and friend to her guests. She is what an Italian host (or any host) should be. I could honestly go on for paragraphs about the HSG. Given the terrific value that it offers, I would rank this hotel among the best in Italy; It offers the ease, comfort, and beauty of a five-star hotel without the snootiness and the attitude. If you are in Florence and they have room, stay at the Hotel Rosary Garden. You will be very, very glad that you did. Note: If you are wondering how to get there from the train station (as we were), please email the hotel staff first as a bus goes directly from the station to the square where the HSG resides. It is about a 15 minute ride and very, very easy.
