Hotel Belle Arti - Venice, Italy     

Stayed there as part of a group tour. Location is good - just off water taxi stop, and water shuttle to airport. Several shops and restaurants, and a very pricey internet cafe close by. Nice outdoor patio were we spent alot of time, as you don't want to spend time in your "oven" of a room. There was an air-conditioner in our room, that blow warm at three different speeds. Lady at the front desk was the rudest, most unhappy person we've ever encountered. She was there all afternoon and into the evening, the day we checked in, and then she was there again in the morning when we woke up. Does she live behind the check-in desk? Drinks at the hotel bar are severely marked up.

Be warned. This is best described as a large house with a reception desk in the Lobby. Female staff are especially surly and abrupt. When we checked in we were given no welcome. The keys were thrown across the desk, and then we were left to our own devices. Rooms are tiny ! No drawers, hot water failed constantly, and mysteriously arrived when we complained.. We felt as if we were an inconvenience to them by staying there. Lots of faults, lighting in stairs not working, breakfast scant and unappetising. Shame . Hotel on approach looks great, nice open areas outside, but it fails on warmth, welcome, and facilities. If the owners are reading this, wake up, you should be ashamed... !!
