Excellent Location, very small rooms , staff not helpful and tried to charge us for 2 breakfasts that we didn't have, Also tried to charge us for phonecalls we didn't make!!! We booked a smoking room but when we got there they said there was none available and that was more or less it , I have to say I kicked up a fuss and eventually we got moved to a smoking room the next day, Rooms very small and very warm at night, We weren't keen on the bathroom, As High Tech as they were there was no lock on the bathroom door and it was glass so you could see righthrough, Not very private... The only thing this hotel has going is the location, other than that I'd book a different hotel the next time I'd visit Madrid.

The hotel is on a busy pedestrian shopping street, an easy walk to all the main squares, royal palace, flea market and restaurants. It is clean and modern but hardly palatial. We paid a reasonable price and were very happy with what we had - as we were not expecting the Ritz but on almost every street there is a 'petit palace' all created from interesting old buildings but modernised inside with standard fittings - but keeping lots of details and adapting to the quirky shapes of some rooms, they are done well and are in great positions (like being in covent garden - including the noise and street entertainers) just pick the one with the best price. Had a great time there, busy fun city, lots of culture, bars, restaurants etc - and don't miss the sunday flea market (the biggest in europe) before you go
