Minus (--): -Cold room: no air/con only one small radiator, not enough to warm-up the room -Cold water: no hot water after 5 min in the shower it became cold as ice and when asked, they've mentioned that we should wait for 30' for the water to warm-up... -No clean sheets for 4 nights!!! Even when we've asked to change, the sheets were not changed, only the towels.. -Dusty drawers: The cheap sheets were falling apart.. everything (clothes, furnitures, etc.) was full of white dust.. Tip: Don't sit on the bed with black clothes, or underwear! -The room was never cleaned/fixed-up.. Not even the glasses were changed or washed. -The TV had a personal antenna and so only the local 3-4 channels were available. There was no remote. We've asked for one but the technician was on vacation... -The supervisor of the breakfast was touching upon the food by her bare hands.. Maybe that's why the glasses were full of finger-prints.. -Many stairs...after the elevator reaches one floor and until you enter the room.. Even in the room..This was quiet nice to see, but not at all convenient.. -The credit card device was out of order and guess what..no technician was around.. Plus (++): -Location of hotel, close to metro and very convenient for walking to the city center. -Additional radiator is available on request -Reception may call even late in the night to order food for you, but usually the one and only 24h-open restaurant is very busy, so patience.. -Low price (but also low service) -Modern design of the room -24h reception open -Sofa in the room which becomes a bed if required -Romantic for young couples -Nice view -Large bed (king size) -Free Internet available in the reception only, although very slow and no printing possible.. -Friendly staff

I have stayed at the Musketyr five times and will soon be there for the sixth time. It's a basic hotel. You don't pay for luxuries so you don't get them. However, if you like spending lots of time in the city of Prague instead of the hotel it is an excellent base. The hotel is approx. a minute's walk from the end of Wenceslas Square. Most of the staff speak good English and are helpful and fairly friendly. The hotel has a lift and a circular staircase. There are some further stairs, beyond the lift, to climb to get to some rooms. Breakfast is served in the cellar and is a typical Czech breakfast (cold meat, cheese, egg, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, coffee and fruit juice). I have stayed in three different rooms. The beds were basic but comfortable, the rooms were quite large, showers (no baths) worked well and towels were changed daily. One room opened onto a large balcony which was shared with the room next door. If you want luxury you need to stay somewhere else. If you want to stay near the city centre, near a Metro station and somewhere to walk back to safely late at night this hotel is perfect.
