1This was our first visit to Prague and we chose this hotel from the good price, albeit a fair way out of central town, We didn't realise the hotel was a tram and bus ride, then an uphill walk on returning after a tiring day. That wasn't too much of a problem as the transport in and around Prague is plentyful and easy to work out.
The hotel was very clean, and although the storage space in our bedroom was quaint, ( a very, very shallow cubpoard with hanging), the room itself was comfortable. The breakfast was better than we anticipated for continental, with choice of cereal, juice, tea, coffee, different breads, cheeses, meats, jams, spreads, fresh fruit, yoghurt and boiled eggs. More than adequate. Service in the small dining room was very good.
We really enjoyed our break, Prague is a wonderful city. The "down" came when we realised that on paying the hotel for the accommodation, we had been conned out of over £25. The price for the room was quoted in Euros on the booking confirmation, but the bill we paid by credit card, had been altered to Czech money using a rate of 29 Kc to 1Euro. It was at the airport we realised that this rate was not in our favour. The banks were giving only 26Kc for 1 Euro.
It was a shame really, as we really did enjoy our stay, and until then had no complaints, so if you are arranging to use this hotel, insist on paying in the currency you were quoted for your stay there.
