Hotel Cerna Liska - Prague, Czech Republic

Booked with the Metamorphosis Hotel (through Wotif.com) but moved to the Cerna Liska as no space at the Metamorphosis. Pleasant 3 star hotel. Nice rooms, good breakfast. Did not eat at the Restaurant. Great position over Wencelas Square (though noisy if you need an afternoon nap after wearing yourself out on walking the streets of Praque all day). Staff were fairly mediocre. Pretty peeved about being bumped as we did lots of research prior to booking the Metamorphosis.

We stayed here in February with another couple. This is absolutely best location hotel in Prague. We had a view to the Old Town Square. We had no planns, so we decided to take a sightseeing tour from the reception. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were looking for city centre location and this fits exactly to out expectations. Our rooms were both on the 2nd floor, it had a romantic painted ceilings. We had a bit problem with internet in the room but reception helped us to solve it fast. There is huge choice of TV channels but TVs could be larger. Breakfast was lovely, good selection of cereals, eggs, sausages etc. We felt that we saw the best of the city and we have enjoyed our stay. Would recommend this hotel highly.

Probably the best hotel in Prague

We arrived at the hotel at 11pm to be greeted by it's spectacular setting. It lies on the edge of the Old Town Square, adjacent to a beautiful cathedral, with the Christmas market stalls and decorative trees and lights on its doorstep. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke very good english (to our relief!). Our rooms were massive, with our suite including a dressing rooms and lounge area (over and above a large bedroom and bathroom). They were impeccibly clean and neat, with all the soft furnishings in great condition. Other reviewers have mentioned street noise, but we had no experience of this, despite staying there at one of Prague's busiest times. The double glazing seems to do a great job of keeping the rooms both cost and quiet. The breakfast served was fresh and tasty, with a variety of pastries, cakes, eggs, sausages and cereals available. We also had an evening meal there one night which was delicious. The dinner was possibly a touch expensive (but it was difficult to tell as we had no other meal there to compare it to). I wouldn't bother looking for somewhere else to stay when I eventually return. Cerna Liska could not be faulted.
