Low cost, good value for money accommodation

Just back from four days in Prague, and would say it was enough time to do and see everything. Hotel was, as previously stated, a bit out of town. However, the tram stop was just outside the hotel and it costs approx fifty pence to get into the city centre. Hotel is basic, but clean; breakfast fine and the staff were helpful. I absolutely adore Paris, but Prague would be a strong contender!

It's a wonderful hotel, not so far from the center - you can use a tram, very next to tha hotel. Big and clean rooms, nice decorations, a place to really enjoy your staying. I strongly recomend it.

Sacrificing location for a large, clean, reasonably priced room

Hotel Kavalir is a very reasonably priced option for Prague, as long as you are happy to not be within walking distance of the more historic areas in the centre. It should be noted that transport is right at the front door and we had no problems traveling in and out of central Prague (around ten minutes). And nobody ever asked to see our ticket on the tram! It is more difficult to get to from the airport. We chose to use a taxi (agreeing the price before we got into the taxi). When we had more time on the way back to the airport, we caught the tram and two trips on the metro, to reach a bus that travels to the airport. Quite convoluted, but it didn't take as long as it might sound and it was a lot cheaper than the taxi. The room we had was clean, well appointed and large. The staff were friendly (which was a relief as customer service in other areas of Prague can be abysmal). Breakfast was comprehensive, including cereal, cold meat, fruit, eggs, sausages, coffee, tea, orange juice etc. If you are price sensitive and willing to do a little traveling, this is a wise choice.
