Not quite 4* hotel but perfectly OK A little too far from the Old Town to walk every day. Hop on 22 tram to Mala Strana, instead.

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Galileo. We had booked and paid for a standard double room but since we were staying for 9 nights we got to stay in an appartment, twice the size of a double room. The cleanliness of the room was outstanding, the room was sweeped every day and towels was changed every day. They changed our bed linnen several times during our stay. Being the young "Rock N Roll/Grunge"-couple you get used to not feeling welcome in fancy places, but not once did we feel that we were treated different by the friendly staff at Hotel Galileo. They seemed very concerned about our well being. Breakfast was awsome.

Excellent hotel. Nicely located, literally a 10 min walk from Wenceslas (sp) square. The male employee was really nice and helpful. SOme of the women were unhelpful but this would not put me off returning as the room was fantastic as was the location and the breakfast.

The Galileo is a great hotel, modern facilties but retaining some character. The location is excellent with ip pavlova metro station just round the corner and a lot of the sites only 15-25 minutes walk away (and Prague is worth exploring on foot). The buffet breakfast is excellent and you can pilfer fruit etc to fuel your walks. There is a good vegetarian curry place on the way to the metro and just across from that (if I remember correctly) is a great restaurant/pub place with English menues and friendly staff - the duck there was amazing. Prague is a great city to eat out - the food is rich, filling and cheap (although vegetarians do have limited options). For kids Prague zoo is a must, although us adults loved it too.
