We were told the hotel was a 4 stars hotel, but in my opinion it is not! When we came to the hotel which is placed quite some km from centrum, we where meet by a closed door and nowbody answered when we knocked. So we stood there in a new country with no idea what to do. Then we had to ask the neighbour for help (Whom by the way did not speak english!). She banged the door and the clock and keept going until it was answered. We came in and were served by a man (probably the owner). He handed us a phone number we could call in case of an emergency. I said that we had been told that the hotel had a 24 hour reception and he answared "Do you need anybody here 24 hours? Which I found a bit rude. Then we came to our room. Which is ok, but nothing more than that. Not 4 stars. Yes there was a flat screen, but it is quite small. The breakfast is ok. There are different things to choose from, but the quality of the food is not very high. The bread was fresh two of the days and the other days it was stale and left no doubt that is was from yesterday (or the day before yesterday!) The woman receptionist don't speak English except for a few words. But she if very smiling. The door to our room was broken in the lock and had been fixed with tape...I did not like to have my things or sleep in a room where the door can't close probably. I would give it 2-3 stars because it is ok, but nothing more. Have a pleasant trip!

What a wonderful little hotel! From the outside it doesn't look like much but the inside was all good. The reception staff were helpful, funny and very professional. The breakfast (included) was pretty good and the rooms were oozing with character and had period furnishings. There are computers in every room and you can access the internet for 4 Euros a day - a great amenity! The bad news is that the location was not ideal. It is near Vysehrad Castle which is nice but it is a good 15 minute walk to the metro station. Which isn't so bad on a nice day - if it wasn't for the huge hill you have to walk up. The really unfortunate part is that at night the walk back from the metro is quiet (too quiet), there aren't any people around, very few businesses are open and you have to walk near train tracks and a park which made me a little uncomfortable although nothing happened. I would suggest taking a taxi. Also, there is not parking at the hotel, you can park for a few minutes in front but then you have to find a place with non-permit parking. We found a lot about 15 minutes walk from the hotel.
