3.7Nice Hotel for the price , a bit out the way but only a few minutes to old town using the tram (No 9 ) , buy a ticket at the hotel desk for the day about £3 . Hotel was very good value , clean , and the staff were excellent ,very polite and helpful , nice breakfast , only gripe was there is no hotel bar as stated , just a fridge at reception , but even so at 25pence a beer and somewhere to sit its still not bad . Plus side to area was that all bars are cheap round there , just walk a few yards back towards town and theres a great music bar on the left
A few tips ....
1. DO NOT use the taxis from town at night , all they need is a stripey jumper and a mask , they will try to rip you off and charge 800 crowns ( £35 ) for a 3 minute taxi !!.
the trams are safe , regular and run late , if it essential to use a taxi then the hotel can sort you one .
2. buy a map , simple i know but will save you searching and the maps sold at the info office on jeruselem ave have the tram routes imprinted on the roads including stops so you can plan your journeys .The official tram maps are very confusing .
3.Steer clear of the bars and cafes in the old town square and wenceslas square , they are a con, a fiver for a COFFEE OR A SMALL BEER ! . Go a few streets away and the price drops to a quid . Most bars around the garni except the sport bars cost around 80 pence for a large beer .
All in all a nice hotel , lovely place and dont forget to visit the castle !!
